What kind of Computer do I need for this business?

This business doesn't really require any top end equipment. Generally you may use a computer to:

1. Surf the internet to:

• view and administer your own website
• take credit card payments
• check out your competition
• communicate via email
• send and receive faxes

1. Work with office applications

• letters
• spreadsheets

1. Manage your finances

• track income and expenses

1. Create advertising materials

• print ads
• electronic ads
• direct mail pieces
• business cards

The only one of these tasks that may require a high-end computer is the creation of advertising materials. If you intend to do a lot of that AND have the talent and expertise to do it yourself, then you will need a high end computer - but I suspect if that was the case you wouldn't be asking asking this question.

So - any good, mid-range computer should do quite well. I think you will find that the software you put on the computer can easily cost more than the computer itself, so feel free to give me a call for recommendations that can save you a lot of money.
