While this procedure can be used to add any kind of document, we suggest that you convert documents to pdf files before uploading them and linking to them from your website. Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf) has several advantages over other document types on the web:
- pdf documents will look the same on everyone's computer
- Your users won't have to own a copy of the program that originally created the document, they can use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view pdf documents (most computers already have this installed).
- pdf documents are generally smaller in size than the original documents, so they will download and display faster.

Once you have your pdf file:
- Log into the Admin Panel.
- Click the page name on which you want to add the link in the 'Manage Content Pages' section of the Admin Menu.
- The page editor will open.
- Click in the document where you want to add the link and type the link text (e.g. - Click here to download the Fax order form).
- Select the text you typed for the link.
- Click on the little chain link in the top toolbar.
- The 'Link' window will open.
- Click the 'Browse Server' button.
- The 'Online Resources Browser' window will open.
- Click the 'Browse...' button at the bottom of the 'Online Resources Browser' window.
- The 'File Upload' window will open.
- Browse to the pdf you want to add and click the 'Open' button.
- The File Upload window closes. (You will see the path to the pdf on your local hard drive is in the textbox just to the left of the Browse button.)
- Click the 'Upload' button at the bottom right of the 'Online Resources Browser' window. (Now your pdf document is on the server and is in the list in the large right pane of the 'Online Resources Browser'.)
- Click the name of the pdf you want to link to in the large right pane of the 'Online Resources Browser'.
- The Online Resources browser closes.
- You are back at the Link editor window. (You will see the path to the pdf file on the server in the URL textbox and the Protocol dropdown now says <other>.)
- Finally, click the 'OK' button at the bottom of the 'Link Editor' window.
All Done! Your page will now contain the link to the document which is now available on your website.
